Open Heart Surgery at Pourtalès Hospital

net powersafe provides Pourtalès Hospital in Neuenburg with a highly available 1500 kVA n+1 emergency power station .

At the beginning of August, the Neuenburg hospital decided to go with the know-how and sound expertise of net powersafe.

The contract given to net powersafe involves the comprehensive technical equipping of a 1500 kVA emergency power system with a table cooler, a filling system and an exhaust system with a particulate filter. At 55 dB (A) in 7 m , the noise level is designed for the specific environment of the hospital.

net powersafe will also be responsible for the engineering, delivery, project management and initial operation of the diesel and new master control system: a highly available industrial control system based on fibre optic cables. The operating software and visualisation used for this standby power system are special developments .

This is finally replacing the existing, outdated emergency power concept. Hooking this up to the new emergency power centre is a challenge – like “open-heart surgery” – and will take place while operations at Pourtalès Hospital are ongoing .

The project is expected to be completed by the end of January 2019.
