400 Hz for punctuality

net powersafe covers the entire spectrum of reliable aircraft power supply (FEV) and thus supports smooth operations during aircraft handling.

115 V/200 V 400 Hz is available for the cockpit and aircraft infrastructure to supply power to aircraft on the ground. The frequency of 400 Hz for on-board power systems on commercial aircraft was chosen because the weight of the electrical generators, motors and equipment is significantly - up to ten times - lower than for the usual mains frequencies of 50 Hz or 60 Hz. During ground power operation and maintenance work, the 400 Hz line with the plug-in device represents the umbilical cord with which all electrical and electronic on-board functions are operated and tested.

The technology area includes static and rotating 400 Hz converters that can be used stationary or mobile. The GPU (unit with combustion engine and special 400 Hz generator), which is placed next to the aircraft, is part of the classic aircraft handling by ground handling companies.

For smaller aircraft, we recommend static and rotary 28 VDC converters for stationary or mobile use.

400 Hz for Punctuality

net powersafe covers the entire range of reliable aircraft ground power supply, thereby contributing towards smooth operations for aircraft handling.

For power supply to aircraft on the ground, we provide 115 V/200 V 400 Hz units for the cockpit and aircraft infrastructure. The frequency of 400 Hz for the on-board networks of commercial aircraft is selected because, at this level, the weight of electric generators, motors and devices is up to ten times lower than at the typical network frequencies of 50 Hz or 60 Hz. In ground-power operation and during maintenance work, the 400 Hz cable with a plug connector represents the umbilical cord that helps with implementing the operation and testing of all electric and electronic on-board functions.

The technology range includes static and rotary 400 Hz converters that permit either stationary or mobile use. The ground power unit (GPU, a generating set with a combustion motor and a special 400 Hz generator) placed next to the aircraft is part of the traditional aircraft handling carried out by ground handling companies.

For smaller aircraft, we recommend static and rotary 28 VDC converters for stationary or mobile use.

Reliable power supply in the aircraft

In addition to the supply of fuel, the supply of electricity is extremely important for the operation of an aircraft. In order for all instruments for monitoring the flight, sanitary facilities and other electrical components to function smoothly, the pilot and crew must be able to rely on a stable and safe power supply. While in the air the power supply is usually guaranteed by the engines, inspections and maintenance of the aircraft must take place on the ground, where the engines are not running. Here the airport's power supply is used, but this can sometimes involve a considerable amount of time and effort. Therefore, power is supplied via units and generators so that the landing processes can be carried out more quickly and easily. NET Powersafe SA is the right contact for you to guarantee this!

Weight savings through 400 Hz power supply

In order for your aircraft to take off, the weight of the aircraft, including passengers and luggage, must not exceed a certain value, which depends on the model. This is one of the biggest problems with aircraft power supplies, especially small aircraft, which generally do not have much flexibility in terms of weight. If a generator has to be carried on the ground without a suitable power supply in the event of an inspection, maintenance or repair, it is very important that this generator weighs as little as possible. Therefore, NET Powersafe SA's aircraft power supply runs at a frequency of 400 Hz and a voltage of either 115 or 200 V, as generators that work at this frequency have the lowest weight in relation to the power achieved. This means that we are talking about up to ten times less weight than comparable generators for normal mains frequencies. Ground-based power supply can thus be guaranteed almost anywhere without increasing the total weight of the aircraft too much or being dependent on the stationary power supply at an airport.

The low weight of the generators is also an advantage on the ground: because they are easy to handle, they can be used quickly and without many tools, which speeds up the setup and therefore the work significantly. Shorter maintenance times have a positive effect on the productivity of the processes on the ground, so there are fewer idle times when parking spaces cannot be used. Static and rotating generators, which are standard for ground stations, with a 400 Hz frequency can be transported as mobile devices or installed permanently. This flexibility also benefits your workflow, as you can quickly adapt to changed plans and work quickly.

Mobile and stationary devices

NET Powersafe SA offers you a wide range of products for aircraft power supply. The diesel-powered or static generators are available both as stationary devices for installation on the ground and as mobile devices for carrying in aircraft. In addition, you can supplement the aircraft infrastructure with numerous devices such as air conditioning systems or portable load resistors. When purchasing and installing at the airport or on the aircraft, rely entirely on the experts at NET Powersafe SA!
